Annualizing
lb added ÷ full charge × 365 ÷ days since the last add × 100. With no earlier add, or one more than a year back, it uses 365 days.
Rosa's: 1.2 ÷ 22 × 365 ÷ 82 × 100 = 24.3%, over the 20% limit
The AIM Act leak rule asks for a leak rate every time refrigerant goes into a covered circuit, and a repair within 30 days when the rate is over the limit. CoolerHeads works out the rate when the tech saves the add and keeps the record.
The same add on the same circuit, rated both ways: 1.2 lb into a 22 lb charge, 82 days after a 0.8 lb add.
Each independent circuit is its own appliance under the rule. CoolerHeads marks a circuit covered when both of these are true.
Measured per circuit, so a rack with three circuits is three appliances.
A regulated HFC such as R-404A or R-448A, or a substitute whose global warming potential is above 53.
A rate above the limit for the circuit's appliance type starts a 30-day repair clock. CoolerHeads sets the limit from the type you pick when you add the circuit.
| Appliance type | Limit |
|---|---|
| Commercial refrigeration | 20% |
| Industrial process refrigeration | 30% |
| Comfort cooling | 10% |
The owner picks one method per facility. You set it once on the site and every add on its circuits is rated that way.
lb added ÷ full charge × 365 ÷ days since the last add × 100. With no earlier add, or one more than a year back, it uses 365 days.
Rosa's: 1.2 ÷ 22 × 365 ÷ 82 × 100 = 24.3%, over the 20% limit
lb added in the past 365 days, this add included ÷ full charge × 100.
Rosa's: (0.8 + 1.2) ÷ 22 × 100 = 9.1%, under the 20% limit
Every add on the circuit, with its date, pounds, rate and the certified tech who did it. One tap sends it to the equipment owner after a repair.
